Last for me was 2007. Cross country trip/vacation. In the middle of nowhere in Wyoming (approx. 20-30 miles between exits), they still enforce the speed limits. I thought 80 mph was just a suggestion.

No, they are voluntary. Only have to do blood or breath after you are arrested

That's what I thought.. I know you wouldn't have to do a a field test... But you could ask to speak to an attorney before doing anything, right?

They can't arrest you until they've proven you are guilty.. Therefore they can't give you a breathalyzer till they prove you're drunk?

I don't plan on drinking and driving... Just nice to know

You don't have the right to an attorney until after you are arrested. The police can arrest you if they have probable cause. If you refuse everything it just makes it harder for the DA to prove a case against you

Driving in excess of posted speed limit. I was well over 25 over. Only cost $150. Dumb on my part. I wasn't even in a hurry to get anywhere.

Here in Texas, if you refuse the breath test. They will take you to one of the local hospitals and take your blood. Even if you say no.
