Distance or just no reason to go other than to knock out those states?
Both. Distance, cost to reach them, lack of transportation to them.
Montana and Wyoming will end up being a trip with a group of guys to hand out. I've heard good things about Jackson's Hole.
Idaho is pointless. Washington and Oregon will be hard. The Dakotas are tough to get to. Maine is a long trip. NH, not much there.
IF you make it to Montana or Wyoming, let me know. Go to Idaho just to stand at the grave site of Ernest Hemingway. Worth the trip. I'm going up next year on his birthday. Or, the anniversary of his death. Both are in July. Do you collect any state souvenirs like pins or patches?
Why Montana or Wyoming?
Yup, we get a pin and a magnet for my grandmother. We try to go to each state capitol. I've been to 15 of those.
I didn't realize Hemingway had such an influence on Key West until we were down there and learned about the history. I really enjoyed that place. It would have been amazing and crazy if I was with friends and not family. Just not much of a beach there.
I'm not that far from Montana and parts of Wyoming. I would assume that if you go to Montana, you would visit Yellowstone Park. I'm about 5-9 hours away. You should have got some pins for yourself. That would have been cool when looking back on your travels.
Damn son, at the time, he was Key West. Lot of bars remember Papa.
Ahh, I gotcha. We should have us a camping trip. You bring a big stick to fend out bear.
A lot of these states came when I was pretty young and not really appreciative of the places I was seeing.
