Random Thoughts XVII

I never said anything even close to that. Not my words. But feel free to make things up to further your argument.

You are too young to understand, but the Titans weren't here when I grew up. They were in Houston. Did you know that? So, they move the franchise to TN and all of a sudden I'm supposed to worship them?

Meanwhile, I've been a VOLS fan all my life. Peyton and I are same age. The VOLS WERE my NFL team. The Titans have done nothing to draw me to their side.

Too young? I remember when the titans moved to Tennessee... What can the titans do to draw you to their side? Win! Of course....

So if the colts trade manning to the titans next year... You're still a *colts fan*? Right? Because you have loyalties.... To a team from
Indianapolis... You know they were in Baltimore... Makes you wonder... You think the colts are only selling tickets to people who live in Maryland? Why would anyone in Indiana be interested?

Why are they called the Tennessee Titans instead of just "the titans"?

Who do they expect to buy tickets? People in Tennessee? Or just random people from Houston or elsewhere?

We are participating in one of those traditional holiday meals tonight.

Also, ITCH. Peyton went to Indy the year after the Oilers moved to Memphis. Peyton was playing his senior year. At the time, most serious sports fans thought the Oilers and their owner were shady for leaving Houston in the first place. The year they played in the Liberty Bowl was embarrassing o watch as a Tennessee sports fan. The nest season in Nashville at Vanderbilt Stadium was not much better.

I was suspicious of those who weren't Colts fans when Peyton was selected in the draft. I view Titans fans as the johnny-come-lately, fairweather fans over the Indy fans like myself.....

Titans fans are fairweather? Wow ... Have literally never heard that... Didn't the colts just leave over night from Baltimore? Or does that not matter

The vols football and basketball programs are currently sucking turds... Not a fan anymore?
But they're my Vols, not a transplant from Houston cause the owner wanted a new stadium. Ask the fine folks of Houston what they think about Bud Adams and the Titans.

They you have it, and this is the same reason... As you know why grizz games over the past 5 years only sellout to laker,Celtic, and heat games... Bandwagoners
I love the Grizz because they're my team, not because of who they're playing on a given night. I root for them to win every time they lace 'em up.

What do the fine people of Baltimore think of the colts organization..
Let's be honest... It all boils down to winning games...

My point exactly! As do I .. But
You dont find it a tad bit annoying when kobe jerseys fill fed ex forum?
They moved from Vancouver you

Touche. However, it's not right to call Colts or Grizzlies fans bandwaggoners because they were losing for so long and the fans loved them then as well.

Of course I hate the Kobe, Lebron, Dirk, etc fans that show up at the Forum. And they moved from Vancouver with a new owner, not the same owner moving the team to fatten his wallet.

So bandwagoning doesn't include "like the team closest to you geographically"...hmmm. A team is now in closer proximity to me, and other people are following them, so I will too. Surely people who live in the city of the pro sports team have more of a reason to be invested. It's good fun for them to experience pro sports in their backyard. If I lived in Nashville, I'd buy Preds tickets because I love hockey.

The Titans were winning at first and I still didn't care. They went to the Super Bowl in 2000...which implies "winning" and I didn't care. There goes that argument.

Also, there is documented controsvery regarding naming them the TN Titans. The majority (more than half, fyi) of the teams in the NFL are named after the city, instead of the state. I wish they had went with the Nashville Titans. I'm not the only one.

So when he dies....?

Side question-

I've been to Memphis several times... Never too far outside downtown... Do you know how impossible it is to fine griZz gear? We tried two malls.. Literally Nothing.. , plenty of heat, laker, and celtic stuff though...Besides the grizz den obviously... Is it that bad where you live?

A thousand times this.

You saying "you're not
The only one" just implies how bandwagoning of a city
Knoxville is.. They do have more invested.. It's their city/state!

Same reason you're a vols fan.

They've had three good seasons< 11 great seasons..

Yes you admited you liked
Him because he was good... Or a 4 time MVP

What part of "been a fan since birth" do you not get? Of course I'm still a fan. That's called loyalty. Not whatever you think it means.

I will always love the VOLS. Win or lose.

It's convenient you ignore the things I actually DO say and make up what I didn't.

But they're my Vols,

Exactly.
