I have nothing but laundry going on till after lunch, then I have a couple of estimates to go give

Fd, you will appreciate this -

Contractor orders 2 windows @ $1600 each. They come in wrong. Reorders them. I have to give the bad news that he will be charged for both sets.

Phone call #1
Me - you are going to be charged
Him - Lots of rage & cussing. it was the customer service girl's fault. make her part for them. he hangs up before I can say anything.

Phone call #2 (five minutes later)
He calls me back. More cussing. He has the proof he ordered it correctly. I play good cop/bad cop. Send me the evidence so I can help him. He's tired of dealing with it. I need to talk to his estimator.

Phone call #3 (five minutes later)
Calls back again.
More cussing. Needs to know by noon next day if he is going to be charged or he's ordering it from another vendor and they can keep the window. Advise him thats not a good idea cause legal he's already purchased the product. More cussing and he's not scared.

Phone call #4
Call him next day. Explain his estimator has no documentation whereas the manufacturer had 3 signed approval copies for his estimator for everything that was shipped. His begrudging response is he will pay for it but not do business with that manufacturer.

Phone call #5 (10 minutes later)
He calls me. Very polite. This was really just a miscommunication between his estimator and customer service. His company should have tracked it better. Would the manufacturer be able to give a discount on the remake?

Its like I'm dealing with spastic 5 yr olds.

Hahaha! Knock on wood, but I havent been cussed in a while. What they do to me is have their wives call and act like an ass then they come in and be the good guy. they get mighty humble when theyre wanting you to work with them on pricepoints and discounts though
