I'm not gonna tell you. You couldn't handle my breed of dog as a puppy. They are crazy. I worked less than a mile from my apartment in Tennessee and paid someone to walk him in Chicago, and also used doggie day care.
When he was a puppy he hurt his leg and I never spent a day away from him until he was nearly 2. I wasn't completely ready for it and had to learn very quickly the responsibility of raising a puppy.
Nerd was smart to get an older dog. Puppies are like babies. They need CONSTANT attention.
I came home every day from work to do his exercises until his leg healed. The surgery also cost me over $2,500 dollars: completely freak accident, and luckily I had that money because the vet requires you to pay immediately!
These are all things to consider. Not trying to scare you out of it, but my story is the perfect example of something going really wrong really quickly and having to have the resources to fix it.
He had to stay at the vet for 2 weeks and I had to reteach him not to mess inside after that debacle. I'm glad I have him but those first few months were hard. He was in pain sometimes, and I could only do so much to alleviate it. I slept on the floor by his kennel every night for 3 months...
