They are both really racy and perfect pictures of that moment in time. Kind of like Fitzgerald for a new generation; not quite as literary, but good all the same.

I've read a lot of books. Obviously I love Dostoevsky, and other Russians, but I also like more contemporary works. If you haven't read any Kesey, Sometimes A Great Notion is a great man's man book. It's about a family of loggers in Oregon. Brilliant.

If you like literature, One Hundred Years of Solitude is one of the best ever. Don't hold it against Marquez that Oprah picked it for her dumbass book club. She also picked Faulkner and Steinbeck, which also pissed me off to no end. Nothing like going to look for a new copy of your favorite works of genius and they have an Oprah f***ing sticker on them. I threw a hissy fit in Borders about it one time. Pretty funny stuff.

Was so frustrated during play practice tonight and when it ended I was just aggravated to death. So I made my announcements and then asked one of my 4 year olds to dismiss us in prayer (I usually ask the high school kids but was irritated at them). So she walked over n say beside me and bowed her head n put her hands together n with her lil kid slur/lisp she said:

Dewah god, shank u for let us talk, and for hashing da pway pwactish and shing our shongs and for Jesus die on da cwoss for shins and shank u my mommy n daddy. Amen

It just made my lil cup overflow with joy. By the time she got finished I was boohooing crying.
