ok, what dept, shifts, work patrol, traffic and csi, make a notebook, daily log

I am filling out my application right now. It sucks the things I have to include. I could work at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, ATF in Knoxville, Marshal's Office in multiple locations. That would require me getting an apt, though, so I am just doing the local sherrif's office.

I can only work the 6p to 6a shift because I am retaking Bio II at a community college since I failed it. I am being paired with a family friend while he is on the night shift, and when he is not, I am being rotated through each department that I have time for.

I am writing up reports on every call I respond to. I take the lead on some of the less highly prioritized calls.

Beyond that, I don't know what to expect. What do I have to defend myself ?What will I be wearing? Do I have a vest? At nights, what calls are most prevalent in a rural area? Anything else you can think of.

it's a really bad photo of me.

Depends on the dept if u will get anything at all. U will sign a waiver of liabilty, be careful. Rural county u will run into a lot of dui and domestics. Of course it also depends on what your fto wants to get u in. working a county will be a good experience because u will experience everything, should run into a meth lab. respect your ftos cruiser, it is their office and world. with your note taking be vaque, not specific specially with names. im sure your fto will ask what u r writing, remember whatever u write can be used as evidence. dont take the smokin and jokin seriously and ask questions.

Probably worried most about writing up reports. I am good on the rest. Pretty respectful guy, can be serious when the time calls for it, keep a level head mostly, think on my feet, intuitive. Should be a good experience.

Hardest thing will be the essay I have to write to get accepted and the two essays I write about my experience that make up 50% of my grade.

Newt - Don't let them drive you to the ER and tell you to go in and ask someone for the Fallopian Tubes. THEY ARE NOT A LAW ENFORCEMENT TOOL. I'm not saying it's been done in the past, but...

How long do they have to be?
