Fair enough. Sometimes its better just to get the work done now than have to track down the parts down and figure out a different solution.

I still think you should ask for a second opinion, ask for a description of the part or even better yet, ask for the part number of the new part. I know you can get it done for a lot better than $200.

Sorry to offer unsolicited advice but that price just seems a bit much for what sounds like very basic and simple part.
