Been there, done that. It's about 1.5 hrs from me, but I use to live in Colorado City just west of there about 20-30 miles.

You go west out of SA on hwy 10 there is beautiful country, but there isn't much that way until you hit El Paso. I was down in Ft. Davis during the summer with my son.

Went to a music and arts festival in Escalante Utah a month ago. There was a girl from Clinton, MS, who now lives in Prove, that sang that song. She did a great job on it.
