You're welcome, Kat. There's a clearing next to the Tipi that is perfect for star gazing. We were deep in a canyon with great an unobstructed view of the sky. At night, it is absolute darkness with no lights anywhere. The sky is amazing. To actually be able to view the Milky Way is unreal.

Can you build fires inside them?

If there was a need to, yes. Although the day time temps were in the upper 90's, the night temps plummet in the dessert. I took my 20 degree sleeping bag and it was more than enough. The only reason for a fire would be either heat or cooking. Heat wasn't needed and there was a fire pit (circle) about 10 feet from the Tipi. But, yes, fires can be built in them. That's one of the reasons for the opening at the top.

Itch, you need to travel West someday, if you haven't, and experience some of this. We were on the canyon floor in the high desert in the middle of nowhere. Very peaceful.

Everyone got high on something in the history of mankind. Plenty of natural growing substances around. Still is. Navajo still use Peyote in religious settings. Beats the Hell out of the grape juice us Presbyterians used.

You should travel and any opportunity you can get. There's a lot of cool things out West. Scenery is awesome. I've always enjoyed traveling and meeting people and learning new things. It really helps one to understand things more locally when they've had an expanded global view.

That's been my bent on life. I've always tried to see where others are coming from as much as I can. I've tried to live as many lives as possible just for the experience. Would be nice if more tried as you do. Would be a much better world, I think.
