Technically lol. All the dairies around here sale the bulls at three days old. I bought 3 jerseys to put in the freezer next fall, and 10 holsteins to raise and sell next fall. They're time consuming the first 6 weeks but worth it later on (provided prices don't take a nosedive)

Also the dairies will put the calf on milk replacer after it nurses a couple of days so they can put the mom back to milking in the barn

Got ya. You'd think there was a machine that would let them self feed using the same concept as bottle feed. Be alot less tine consuming. I'd guess there prolly is but they are pretty pricey.

I don't know....I don't think I've ever heard of one or seen one. You need to invent one, then give me a prototype to test for ya. You'd be stinking rich and I would have a free feeder.....its a win/win :yahoo:

okay this may be a dumb question, but how do you insert/post a photo without having to put some text? When I use the manage attachments function it always tells me I have to put some text too in my post.

I"m guessing you can't link images from a google "images" search? Because it gave me a broken link icon.
