Random, Thoughts, X,XXIV

This morning, I’m missing Molly Ivins. At six feet tall, she could hold her own in the boys club of journalism, drinking, cussing, and journaling with the best of’em. An unabashed populist, with a twinkle in her eye, she’d sometimes describe herself as a left-libertarian. Like me, she mixed the less government is more modern (Goldwater) conservatism with a fierce commitment to equal rights, equal justice, and equal opportunity. She also expressed the common will that we the people help out the neighbor who is down on their luck or earning too little doing a job that needs to be done.

I just watched the vid of the girl running track who whacked another runner with the baton. She claims it was an accident and was actually the other runner's fault. Good grief. Tonya Harding should start using that defense.
Yeah, it appears she took umbrage at the other runner “crowding her” as she passed and bonked her on the head in anger.

“Smishing?” I heard a local news reporter use this term to describe text (sms) messages delivering fake messages from traffic control entities directing the recipient to fake Websites to pay fees or fines purportedly overdue. Phishing has graduated from email…
