We have a similar story in our family.
I've looked into multiple outfits. It's just that I don't really have the emotional bandwidth (sorry for the cliché, but I can't think of a better phrase) to deal with any weirdness from all this. I don't want to meet any half-siblings (pretty unlikely my birth mother is still alive now; she'd be 84.) Maybe one day.

I have my own family now: my mother is hanging on at 96 with severe dementia, my husband, my three kids, my two grandkids, and my two step-daughters.

Yep, a first cousin alerted us to the relation. Would be a neice to us. It's not our place to connect.
