We had roughly 1000 and fielded a team with over 100 players. Football ruled in Al.The last high school that I attended had 1400 students when I enrolled and a little over 700 when at last I graduated. We barely fielded a football team that final fall term, and the band only had 29 members. A number of players played both ways and special teams. The band did quick marches into formations to drum cadences, pointed every horn towards the main stands, and played as loud as we could. The football team won two games that fall, one was at a large new school, 29-6. Their band had ~90 members and included an electric combo on a platform. The bus ride home was raucous!

The show delves into the glory years of Urban Meyer, Tim Tebow and all of the off-field issues that surrounded some of those great Florida teams."Finebaum’s matriculation intersected my own. He’s old enough to remember Charlie Pell and Galen Hall. He refers to Urban Meyer and Tim Tebow as Florida’s glory years with no mention of Steve Spurrier? The guy’s a jaded hack.
