Wifey often opens the door to our deck to let dog go out and get some fresh air. he uses a potty pad so it's not really to use restroom. She'll do this while taking a break from work (working from home still). Well she let the dog out and started for restroom and I start to hear high pitched seagull chirping. She was like "what is that?" I yell "Hurry get outside with Gus!" And got up and made my way to them quick. Sure enough I was right....two bald eagles were up in a tree next to the house. First Time I have seen Bald Eagles here, but I used to work with eagles for years at the Nature Center and I knew that sound. Two were in teh tree looking at our deck, and a third was circling over head. We see hawks often, and once in a blue moon golden eagles...but these were the first bald eagles.
My Wife asked "what are they doing?" I said "Waiting for you to leave" She said why would they be waiting for me to leave? "So they can eat" "Why would they need me to...... Oh"
Gus will not be going out unsupervised for awhile. 39 lbs is not remotely too big a meal for these guys. Gus is a bad ass, but he aint THAT bad ass.
Just chillin talkin about freedom and Sh**.....Murica!
One flew over us and I kinda stood protective over Gus..he had a 6 foot wingspan at least. Picture is zoomed in but doesn't do justice to how big they are.
Just a future reference if you live in Tennessee and hear seagulls chirping get your dog/cat in quick...we're not near the ocean, and it's almost always eagles.
