I don't know what the pizza basement is referring to and I only got to see one white pickup truck that an orange Smokey sticker on the back and an orange pompom hanging from the back window. Roads were on overload pretty much all day. A drive that usually takes me 5 hours took 8 hours today and the slowdown in Chattanooga made me wanna pull some hair out because there was no clear explanation for it. I did see a guy who looks like joedawg come walking across Dug Gap Road towards the One9 fuel stop. Looked like a lot lizard shift change going down.

Only thing I can figure is lots of school districts having fall break starting/ending this weekend. Even then, I'm not sure that alone could account for it.

I-40 eastbound has been crazy for weeks, both weekdays and weekends.

I'm guessing that a big part is that I-26 splits off for the coast in West Asheville, and a lot of the traffic between the state line and here is headed to the Carolina and Georgia beaches. Or somewhere.
