I know you don’t and don’t expect you ever will. This part will seem condescending and I don’t mean it too. I get that. I won’t apologize, because from what I’ve read and even in my own world is mind numbing right now. I may not get to spend Christmas with my family because of contact tracing at my work and personal life. Some of us need the laugh, but I will scale it back.I don't think it's funny.
He’s gonna be a bruiser! My grandson. I hope there’s not too much skin showing for you fine folks

@Orangeredblooded when do you get the contract tracing and lab results back?
Older grandson and mother have been tested and are negative within the last four days, and the rest of us are vaccinated and boosted (the baby has maternal antibodies) (my mother is also vx2 and b), so we’re proceeding onward. So ready for this stuff to drop down to background noise, but it’s obvious from the hospital data that we’re not there yet.
Yeah but they’re saying omicron is much less virulent and if people get it they won’t be very sick but they will then have better immunity than a vaccination ushering in the endemic. Crossing my fingers.Yeah, January and February are going to be rough. The idea of this being an endemic already was always going to be a fallacy since these things spread in colder months with people indoors and gathering together(the favorable numbers from September and October reversed even before Omicron started to spread.)
The second wave of work testing happened Tuesday, hopefully results come in tomorrow. We’ve had 3 more positives in our memory care since Monday, so it resets the clock. Crap. I’m fully vaccinated as my whole family are (except for my mother), her and dad get tested tomorrow because of family exposure yesterday, but I can’t take that chance with my grandchildren. I fear we’ll never hear it as background noise.@Orangeredblooded when do you get the contract tracing and lab results back?

You wound up getting Moderna or Pfizer, right? (the mRNA vaccines)The second wave of work testing happened Tuesday, hopefully results come in tomorrow. Mine’s been Moderna all the way. I’ve witnessed the crap way they die. I won’t get into that now, it’s Christmas and let’s do that. You wound up getting Moderna or Pfizer, right? (the mRNA vaccines)
I’ve read that the non-mRNA vaccines (including Johnson & Johnson) aren’t very effective against Omicron. My older stepdaughter got J&J, but them a second vacc (Moderna, I think.)
Geeze, this is so exhausting. For many, it’s not that big of a deal. But for enough people, it truly is a Big Deal. Plus I don’t want to be one of those barely-sick people who pass it on to others, especially my mom. It’s a miserable and crappy way to die, that’s for sure.

Im getting the booster next week thanks to J&J being ineffective -- have you heard any reports of side effects on boosters ? or which one is better ?You wound up getting Moderna or Pfizer, right? (the mRNA vaccines)

Back in Delta days, Moderna seemed to have better protection than Pfizer, although both were very good.Im getting the booster next week thanks to J&J being ineffective -- have you heard any reports of side effects on boosters ? or which one is better ?

I guess, since you had J&J, if they ask which you’d rather get, then maybe Moderna? But either should be a big boost to your immunity. Ask your doctor for recommendations. Beyond that, it would be a good idea to do your own research on this. I’m just repeating what I’ve digested from news reports, and we all know about second-hand (and worse) info.
And side effects, overall, are negligible. If you work M-F, maybe get your booster on Friday afternoon. If you get the typical mild side effects (fatigue, achiness, slight brain fog, general viral crap symptoms), they should pass off in a day or two.
But again, from what I’ve read, either Pfizer or Moderna will get you miles ahead of where you are now. Call your doc, especially since you are a diabetic.
yeah the last word there is why Im all of a sudden worried about it - sent the Dr a message a few minutes ago probably hear back Monday I sure they will say yes, so Im scheduling for one at Costco or Kroger later tonightBack in Delta days, Moderna seemed to have better protection than Pfizer, although both were very good.

well I had that last week and no idea if it was this omi thing, but around 10 at work have tested positve this past week, and several that werent tested came in sick anyway, I guess since they dont get paid like last year and earlier this year. Guess its not being taken serious this time around by the Illinois government—I had Pfizer for all three (two initial vaccs in Jan-Feb, and booster in September or whenever they authorized it.)
No particular reactions to any of them, although at 67, I’m always tired and achy and spacey, so that doesn’t mean much.![]()
