Yeah, a lot of times you have to keep banging on doors and yelling (not literally!) until you find the right therapist, which by definition is hard to do when you are struggling. It’s worth trying again though, over and over.

A much milder version, but one I went through: 2 of my 3 kids are ADHD. So am I. Their meds (amphetamines and derivatives) couldn’t be auto-refilled; they had to be called in each month.
So… each month, each kid had to notice when his/her pill bottle was almost empty. Then each kid had to remember to let me know. Then I, the ADHD mom, had to remember to call their doctor to ask for a refill to be called in. Then I, the ADHD mom, had to remember to go pick it up.
Even at the time, I thought it was funny, but was crazy at the same time.

Do you have anyone willing to go to bat for you? Your regular doctor, maybe? Keep battering down the doors until you find a therapist you click with, even if - ESPECIALLY if - they tell you things that you maybe don’t want to hear.
You and I are on up there in years, but there’s no reason to not find some happiness in your remaining time on this planet.
