Get a boost and get in the Zone. They will test it to make sure its the battery (and not something else, i.e. an alternator).

That's why I mentioned the auto insurance roadside. Most come to a residence to give boost. They usually have the equipment needed where they don't have to get right next to a vehicle in a parking garage to give a boost.

Thats what Ive done in the past -- Im not doing anything outside in zero degree weather here

Get them to check your alternator. While it's very possible it's the battery, if you were driving/idling it, then the alternator should have kept the battery charged, that's it's basic job. That said, a really weak battery will do that. They can check both before you spend money.

fraid i dont have a clue how to install battery but have mastered using jumper cable

somehow missed the car=fix-genes
had same problem twice this year, and thought i was taking care of battery by starting car every week

Starting it causes the alternator to keep it charged. Sometimes the battery will have a draw from something that'll drain it, and make it die.

I think some eastern Kentuckians actually say "grade of slaw," but they don't enunciate clearly sometimes.
I gave it a C-.
