Random, Thoughts, X,XXIV

So I assume that I’m late to the party as usual, but we just watched this, and it’s pretty amazing. Anyone who liked the 60’s California sound of The Beach Boys, Mamas and the Papas, the Byrds, and Buffalo Springfield should give it a listen.

Lots of commentary by Tom Petty, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton and others.

That is a great doc.

Green grass and high tides forever
Castles of stone souls and glory
Lost faces say we adore you
As kings and queens bow and play for you
Yeah, they play just for you

On April 7, 1994 I was working in aircraft maintenance at Federal Express in Memphis when this happened. Flight 705, aircraft N306FE a DC-10-30 was to depart Memphis around 1500 hours for California.
A Jump seat (free rider) passenger who was also a flight crew member attacks the 3 crew members flying the aircraft with a hammer about 20 minutes after takeoff at about 19000 feet up north of Forrest City Arkansas.
It was beyond amazing with the amount of physical damage to the two captains that they were able to get that overweighted plane back on the ground safely in Memphis. For that aircraft to stay together after the maneuvers Capt. Tucker put it through…unbelievable
The so called martial arts expert person with the weapons, the failed plan & the advantage got his ass handed to him that day. He later received life without parole for his efforts. He wrote a bro letter to then president Obama in January 2017 asking for a pardon.

My Mom knew the pilots. She worked in crew records.

That’s the best animation of it. Aircraft they used in the video is a DC-10 -10 & the wrong tail number. It works for the video.
Actual aircraft was a DC-10-30. Biggest visual difference between the -10 & -30 is the center main landing gear on the -30. The -10 does not have that landing gear. The -30 can carry heavier cargo is one reason for the extra gear.

Putting it on its back & then dropping the nose straight down going 900 mph is insane for a plane that size with that much weight on it. Pic is the actual plane

His speargun could not be fired?

WTF??
It was a pneumatic (air) that wasn’t primed or charged

I couldn't help but put myself in the crew's shoes during that simulation. Imagining the feeling of being there during all that... mmm mmm mmm!

Thank god the culprit didn't operate the spear gun correctly.
