It’s been on for like 20 years but never watched it

I had no idea it was still on. When my daughters were still in high school (they were graduated in 2003 and 2006), we watched it, but it drove me berserk. “Geeze Louise, residents do not unplug someone from a ventricular assist device! Even or especially if you’re in love with this patient!! WTF!!!” They finally banned me from watching with them.

My fave was always “Trauma: Life in the ER.” DXH (dear-ish ex-husband; my kids’ father) was freaked by the thought of chest tubes, and it seemed like every time he walked into the room, they were inserting a chest tube. I felt terrible for him. But it was a pretty damn accurate capture of the stuff that happens in US ERs.

St. Elsewhere was another good one.
