No. I have exited first on a questionable spot. The pilot called exit. I didn't like the spot, but the other jumpers on the load were screaming at me to get out. I did. The spot was short. I deployed at my declared altitude and elected to land off the DZ rather than trying to crab back over trees. DZO picked me up and brought me back. The next flight, the pilot adjusted jump run, and there were no more issues.

I've never stepped on lines. I've never gone up without proper equipment - gear checks are life. I've never had to cut away. I pack my own main and have been lucky. I'm Mr. Safety at DZs.
