Is she actually doing early retirement? Good for her!

She took the buyout package plus her severence package from her position. She's going to be doing small business incentive consulting for the next couple of years. I think with her health issues plus the hours she was working, she just got burned out. The buyout + severence just was her way out.

That was a perfect way to structure it. Her company seemed to have a bit of cray-cray going on anyway.

The health and double dipping buyout + severence is what she's saying out loud. Let's not kid ourselves, the fact they told her she's not getting the interim gig full time plus the corporate bureaucracy of a publicly traded company are as key of reasons as the health and $$$. (She made a HR complaint last year about an employee)

once a company is publicly traded the employees become pawns - its all about stockholders and board of directors
