Have you woken up with your tent fly frozen solid with condensation from breathing overnight?
Yep. Outward Bound, Colorado, Umcompahgre Mountains. 1974. (I was too weenie for NOLS.) But I never went backpacking in winter, so other than that at altitude, I spent more time swatting mosquitos.

We even got snowed in just off the Continental Divide and had to shelter for several days in an abandoned mine. In late August.

It was a 3 1/2 week course back then, and truly one of the defining experiences of my life. Back when I had knees. And lungs.

I'm camping in a hotel in Nashville. Four appointments at Vandy tomorrow.

May your doctors be exemplary and tell it like it is. May your nurses be examples to whom all others aspire. May your appointments be on time and last only as long as you want them to be. Above all, may the immediate and forthcoming news bode well for your future.
