My dad's been going to church every Wednesday and Sunday for the last 3 weeks. I told him I thought you'd be a changed going to church now. His response was "yeah I've been praying to God that I wouldn't take the dogs."

Sounds like he just has a lot of pressure on him. Seeing your Dad as just a man with flaws is a hard part of growing up.

It's a hard time right now for him. Although that still doesn't excuse him saying what he did. I've seen how hurt a father can get from a divorce and it's pretty rough. Parents got divorced when I was in the 9th grade and was a pretty hard time. Good luck bro.
