I can understand people from Tennessee caring about the case and following it, but it seems like some people, from all over, have interest in just connecting to cases and following them for ****s and gigs.

A lot of people like to follow crime events for different reasons. Some good/some bad. Curiosity, vested interest, money.

There is a forum for that area with lots of local folks on it. When someone like that shows up, they out them pretty quickly and not as graciously as you did. Some of the back and forth is funny and gets heated.
