That's one thing he got from his parents, unfortunately.

My godparents are the sweetest and most Christian folks I know. Because of how old they are though, they haven't forgotten their ways of before. It can be downright embarrassing out in public with them around blacks.

My grandfather was from Aroostook County, just the way it was for rural white folks of that generation.

My Dad was a bigot, God rest his soul. I loved and admired him but that was hard to overcome and not let it rub off on me. He grew up during the depression and I guess most everyone in that era was racist to a point. I am ashamed to admit that I still see color but I wish I did not.

I don't have a problem with someone because of their color. If I hate how someone is acting I'll form opinions on them no matter what they look like.

Lot of racists on board the VN train. Some don't even realize it. Not me, I have a black friend. His name is Grizz. Maybe, you've heard of him?

My only black friends were the friends I had in High School in TN. I ran into her aunt/uncle down here by chance because her uncle was wearing a TN hat. And you know what happens when two TN hats come within 10 feet of one another. "Go VOLS, Go VOLS, What part you from?" You know the rest.

Happens everywhere I've lived. Haven't met up with anyone I know, but Vol fans are spread to all parts of the earth.

I was college friends with Leonard Little's sister Aiesha. I was invited to go with them to the superbowl in '00 the year the rams and the titans played, but parents and grandparents threw a fit. I seriously believe that it was because of their skin color. I won't ever get that chance again

Damn, I hate to hear that FD. That would have been a hell of a memory.

I dated a hot black chick in college for about 3 weeks before my friends ruined it. She felt hated and unwanted and I was pretty much ostricized. She broke it off and dropped out to go somewhere else. That was at TTU in Cookeville TN back in the 80's. Friggin' Tullahoma rednecks. Needless to say I haven't spoken to any of them ever again.

People like your dad never bothered me Vif. I always figured he may have sat on his grandfathers knee who might have fought in the civil war. That is a big cultural factor.

I'm willing to bet that when you see color that a lot of it I'd based on projected persona and not color. I.e. a black kid with baggy jeans, gold chain, jersey and dreads makes you think thug. I doubt you think that if you see a black guy in a suit. Most people would probably share your opinion. imo thats not prejudice. If you dont want to be stereotyped dont dress the part.

Just another Bronx Tale.

Haha, the only thing I will be telling him is "yes sir" and "no sir". He's slightly intimidating lol. His sister was one of the sweetest people I've ever had the good fortune to meet
