My brothers. I'm a militaristic guy, I guess. I was born too late, I'd have loved to go fight with The Saints. And I got married which killed my Legion chance. I will always love the boys in green.

It was what he loved, and I cannot begrudge that. His boys are old enough now to understand why he did what he did and that makes a difference. Joey was a great guy, and I see that in his sons now. He never knew what hit him, and the people that came and talked to us said he never felt a thing. It does bring a small measure of comfort. I have pics of the humvee he was in and one in a while I come across them.

"Run, old hare, If I were just an old rabbit, I'd run too"

A soldier from the 24th Virginia Regiment, before Pickett's Charge.

I was thinking that when reading one of your post above. I love that line.

It sums up the soldier's heart, really. My grandpa talked about being on the C-47's before Normandy, he said it was a cacaphonie of bad jokes. Nobody wanted to admit what was going on.

Its good people like you and him that make it possible for rabbits like me to have little pity parties like tonight. Believe I will go get some ice-cream, give myself a kick in the butt, and watch a retarded movie

I really hate rabbits, as the comparison goes. I don't mind hares, but rabbits shame me

Yeah, he just doesn't stand out through the years as JW does. maybe it's just the presentation?

I would have liked to see Joe on the twelve string too just to compare. Don killed it, but Joe played a mean lead electric. I just really like JW's style. He is entertaining.

Sly, you once said you like guitarists who play with emotion. Have you ever seen Joe Walsh play, haha?

Up close and personal, I have. Very. I love me some Joe Walsh. Funk 49 got him rollin'. Tore up Hotel California. In Knoxville, on the original tour in the 70's, the curtain was closed. Joe stepped through the curtain and began playing the intro. Best live sound I think I've heard. Then, the curtain slowly opened to reveal the rest of the Eagles joining in. Chills.

My dad got to see him live on the reunion tour. What do you think about the original version of HC? Who played the best guitar?
