I can't even remember what they cost when we were kids. Had to be pretty cheap as we were poor. I can still remember sitting in the driveway with two of my friends and trading cards. We each would have a shoe box completely full of cards and begin the trades. Somebody would have a dozen Mickey Mantles but be short a Willie Mays and we'd trade back and forth until all were satisfied. Those three shoe boxes today would probably be worth at least several hundred thousand grand each.

I gave a lot of them to my brother when I moved out here. They will go to his grandson in a few years. I probably had 20-60,000 or so. I kept all the good ones and ones that meant anything to me and gave him the bulk. Still some good cards in the huge batch but not worth sorting through. Also, gave him an autographed Shaq basketball I got in the early '90's. He made out like a bandit when I decided to downsize my belongings. He's a good guy. Well worth it.

Be sure that they know what they are and where they are. I've heard too many stories of collections at parents house being given away or thrown away. Not intentionally, just through normal clearing out some junk for space.

Yeah, got it right here. Still haven't put it away. Nice to look at and remember.

Hopefully will see him in the summer or towards the end of it. Haven't seen him in about three years. Knowing I was moving out here, I spent a lot of time with him the few years I was back in Knoxville. Used to drop by his office and take him to lunch several times a week just to talk. Best and nicest guy I know. The angel in my avy is the one I made for him Thursday and shipped to him. Should receive it tomorrow.

Thanks for the tip. My parents, especially my mother knows those cards mean alot to me. I trust that they won't shaft me. Plus the house I grew up in is a family house that was passed down to my mama so I know 100% my folks ain't going no where lol

I think they did much better with him. He's two years younger than me. With him, it's still yes mam, no mam, please and thank you, etc. Would do anything for anyone at anytime. When I moved from Cali to Knoxville to be closer to Mom in her last years, I called to see if he could help me move and drive one of my cars back across country. 3600 miles. I called on a Monday and he was there on Wednesday. We left for Knoxville on Thursday, July 4th. He put everything on hold at a minutes notice to come help. Awesome.

That's the way I was raised, but little sister is a renegade. Good kid but a liittle rebel, she's got a degree from WKU but hard headed like a alligator.

Never thought they would. Things just get tossed sometimes without anyone knowing the value or thinking it's trash. Many years ago, my brother and I helped my ex-wife move. After we got her in, we took all the black trash bags we'd been filling to the dump and disposed of them. Later, she said that she couldn't find her jewelry. I asked her what it was in. Of course, she had put it all in a black trash bag. 'Bout $35,000. Never to be seen again. It was insured and replaced, but..........damn.
