I don't speak English as well as some and calling the cops might scare me at some point in my life. You may be right, but it's an assumption at this point. So, what actually happened? How did you two end up hitting head on? I hope no one was injured in this.

I was driving out and he came around the other side of two big trucks and by time we saw each otjer it was to late. Nobody was injured, nothing wrong with his big truck.

@hobock it was technically nobodys fault so even more the reason he shouldnt have left if he had a license or insurance.

Well, the good thing is that no one was hurt. At least, you're around to sort out the details now. I've known some not so lucky. Glad you're OK.

It's more likely he ran because he didnt have a license. Now he's facing hit-n-run. I'm glad you have uninsured motorist coverage.

But if he didnt have a license, its likely he also has no insurance. Now its a good thing when I have a father who is a former cop who now supervises insurance claims.

You're lucky you know who the other driver is and where to locate him. Uninsured motorist insurance is good only if the other driver is located and has none. I found out the hard way many years ago with a company I'd had insurance with for a long time. My car was hit and the driver took off. My company told me that uninsured motorist only paid off when it is proven the other driver wasn't insured. Got no clue who it was so I paid the deductible and learned a lesson.

Did the local authorities (police, sheriff, whatever) arrive and do a report? Hopefully they did and they will be the ones looking for the person. You don't need to get involved in that. Looking for the person, I mean. Let the locals do that.

Leave that up to the 5-0, kid.

You know they will never do a damn thing to find him. I had a bunch of stuff stolen out of my vehicle last year and they didnt do jack to find it.

Give that same information to your insurance agent and let them handle it. I see a few ways this could go wrong otherwise.

If they know what vehicle they're looking for and someone shared specific info about the hombre, sounds like an open-shut case.
I'm assuming you don't live in a sprawling metropolis.
