I don't know how. I'd love to try but there isn't anyone to teach me. I love pure maple syrup, but its about the price of gold now lol

We just cook it down in an old aluminum milk tank, since is just for family and friends we dont need the full setup for getting perfect gravity and such. Cousin in Michigan has a commercial setup, he does about 700 gallons a year.

Wow! Are we talking a milk cooling tank or one that hooks on the portable milker systems about 5 gallon capacity? Where do you get the taps for the trees?

We use a 100 gallon open holding tank, but you can use anything, really, depending on how much you're doing, which depends on how many tappable trees you have.

Figure 35 gallons of sap for a gallon of syrup, so you kinda go from there to see what you'll need. A buddy has a half dozen maples and uses a turkey fryer pot
