now if i can only get my mom to do this.. she's a 1/2 to 1 pack a day menthol woman.

Just buy her a couple of packs and give them to her. First thing she will notice is her mouth won't taste like an ashtray. If she has any wheezing or lingering bronchial problems, I'll bet they become less bothersome.

wheezing and chronic cough.

Damn humidity back there makes it worse. I used to rattle when I was trying to go to sleep. Haven't done that in years.

Mountain air does wonders for the respiratory system. The difference is unbelievable after a few days.

It does definitely help. Haven't been at an altitude under 4500 feet in a long time. Before moving back to Knoxville for a few years, I lived at 6600 feet in So Cal. I do like it.

i figured the lower oxygen levels would hurt though.

Some people complain of headaches and problems sleeping. I've never had any problem. The air is cleaner around where I live which helps I'm sure. Now, Salt Lake City is another story. When I get up through the 8000-12000 foot elevation, the air is so sweet I swear I can taste it.
