Random Stupid Thought

OK, I will admit to a random stupid Vol fan thought I had after the game. For those of you who have not seen Happy Gilmore, he was a hockey player who could hit the golf ball 300 yards every time, but couldn't putt. Then after he got the right coach, he learned to putt, and when his arch nemesis found out he could putt, he knew he was in trouble.

So in my mind I saw the Gators saying,"Uh-Oh, TN has got some Defense now."

I know we have a lot of work to do, but I am excited to see our progress on D and can't wait to see us hitting on all cylinders in all phases of the game. I think we have the right coach (hopefully a gator won't bite his hand off) and I was also impressed with the toughness our guys showed against a very physical team. OK, enough of a stupid rant. That dline looked nasty!! Byron young looks as physical as you can get !! He looked elite! Baron looks great too! The only thing I can complain about is our inside guys.

Not sure why you would complain - the entire D line had improved play over last year and I think they went 10 deep which is a great sign! We may be an average SEC defense this season instead of Swiss cheese

We need the special teams to be "Special", a blocked punt and a muffed punt are not "Special" and will cost us a game vs a good SEC team.

And yes the DL looked much improved over 2021.

Not sure why you would complain - the entire D line had improved play over last year and I think they went 10 deep which is a great sign! We may be an average SEC defense this season instead of Swiss cheese

I think our DL has improved. However, we're not out of the woods yet. Depth and the secondary are the primary reasons. Nonetheless, I believe the defense guys will give their all and make it count. If we do get to 9-10 wins, we're going to see both portal and new recruit blue chippers come our way. Then, at long last, Colin Cowherd's prediction will come to fruition. <>

If I'm a FL player I don't think TN can beat the Gators until we do it on the field. 1-15 would not scare me. I expect them to show up very confident of a win. Why would they think anything else.?
