I know he's been playing well and probably deserves a reward, but I hope this isn't a kneejerk reaction to our loss at UK.

I trust just about anything Bruce does, just saying, it's weird timing.

Thoughts?

With the bench depth that we have it is kinda irrelevent of who "starts" the first 2/3 minutes.

He's starting because he's playing the best out of everybody as of late. His drives to the basket have been our best offensive option.

Ramar Smith should be playing as many minutes as he possibly can. We are flat out not as good with Jordan Howell on the floor.

Ramar makes us a much better team!! Now if we can just get Chism playing to his potential!!

One thing with Chism is he needs to stop thinking he's Lofton trying all those three point shots. He's good for about 1 a game....but stop after that

Ramar is a playmaker.. i like the thought of him passing alley oops to Wayne, J. Smith, and Tyler Smith.. and also driving down the lane and dishing it out to Lofton.. which Howell cant do near as good as he does..
it worked last night for Ramar.. as he had 8 assists.. thats what a true PG needs to do...

I think this is a good coaching move. Everyone berates Fulmer for not "trying new things" or "switching things up." I think Pearl wanted to try a new angle.

I guarantee there has NEVER been a time where Chism is behind the arc and thought to himself, "I'M CHRIS LOFTON!!!!" and jacks one up.

True but, he does take too many. He and T Smith were a lot more aggressive last night.

Ramar is ballin right now.:good!:

I agree that we are better with Ramar on the floor but Jordan has a better outside shot. I dont know about his (JH) FT % but Ramar kinda sucks at that, so he needs to improve or he will be a liability late in games.

He is shooting around 80% from the line in SEC play. Ramar is Ballin.

I don't know his SEC stats for FT but he is right at .60 for the season and that has to get better. But, as I think about our entire team with the exception of Lofton is a liability at the FT line so leave him in late unless you need a three, then put in Howell who % wise is our best on the season at .43

As long as ramar gets his 25+ minutes a game.. and Howell is getting around 15 or less.. im fine!
unless Howell is absolutely ballin on a random night!

Guys, I realize Ramar is the better player, just putting it out there, the chemistry has been good, Ramar and JP had some really good stuff going on. Granted, we lost to UK, but I just wondered if maybe things were going well enough.

If Jordan Howell is getting anywhere near 20 minutes a game, things are not going well enough.

Ramar started yesterday, Jordan got 16 minutes. Exactly the same as it's been. Just saying, he changed nothing other than who stepped on the floor first, therefore only messing with chemistry. Was never saying it was a bad move, just at 16-2, I question the need.

Having Ramar starting allows us to dictate the tempo from the start, which is what we need to do the rest of the season and heading into the tourney.

To be a top tier team, a deep tourney team, we MUST have Lofton playing well. Regardless of how well he is playing, Howell, being an outside shooter himself, doesn't lend to freeing up Lofton. Ramar must be accounted for when he dribble penetrates, leaving the kickout to Chris or J. Smith or whomever. Ramar starting may be the key to getting Chris back to his game. Howell will still be a crucial part of the team, but a change was needed to try and find the right chemistry to ignite Lofton. With Chris playing like he has this year, we could win the SEC and even get far in the tourney. To have a chance at the final 4 and dominate the SEC, Lofton has to be his old self. Just an opinion.

I agree it was the same gameplan the only difference is that Ramar started.

How nice was it to see big Duke out there and contributing....he looked pretty solid.
