5:15 p.m. event outside Neyland Stadium to feature Coach Dooley, band, cheerleaders

The University of Tennessee announced today that a pep rally entitled “Rally on Rocky Top” will be held on Friday afternoon (October 14) at 5:15 p.m. at the Gate 21 amphitheatre in advance of Saturday’s Tennessee vs. LSU football game, which is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.

Head football coach Derek Dooley will speak to the crowd, with the Pride of the Southland Marching Band and the University of Tennessee cheerleaders also present. There will also be several giveaways for fans, including autographed items and officially licensed University of Tennessee gear. Two tickets for Saturday’s game against LSU and pregame sideline wristbands will also be featured giveaways, while the first 400 fans at the rally receive a free appetizer card from Texas Roadhouse.

Free parking is available for this event in Lot 9, and there is no charge for admission to this event.

I might as well go. Don't have crap to do on Friday afternoon.
A lot of the students need something to get them excited. A lot of students around me on Saturday, even before we fell apart, were lack-luster during the game.

Might as well go, I don't have class after 12 and the BB King concert I thought about going to would've been $67, so it's my best option for entertainment.

This is a great idea. Unfortunately I cant come to Knoxville until Saturday. Heres an idea, lets kick LSU's a*& while we're at it.

I can't help it, I Believe.

God bless this fanbase and team. I can't believe it has come to this.

I don't know if it's harder for people that were watching when Tennessee was dominant or for people like me that didn't really follow football that much until recently (for me, that was freshman year 2009) and times have yet to be smooth-sailing.

Either way, it's been extremely rough.

This is pretty lame imo.

If they did something like this let everyone into the stadium and play some highlights of UT teams of the past rolling people over on the jumbotron. This would get everyone pumped up more than cheerleaders outside the stadium.
