More touches as a RB or a WR? I'm going with running back. And I'll go out on a limb here and say he leads our team in rushing this season

Wonder if we could get him to play a 3rd position in 3 years. Placekicker?

I would agree but he is such a play maker I think he will be used in to many other ways to get the touches he needs to lead the team in rushing. I could easily see him leading in all around or total yards. Rushing isn't far fetched though.

He hates DD because he threw him under the bus by joking about him wanting to rest, right? It's obvious that those comments were damaging because Neal responded with his best outings as a vol.

Both or at least receiving out of the backfield a lot. Dude has great hands.

No homo, right? j/k

Seroiusly though, I agree. He's fast enough and has sure enough hands to do some damage with swing passes and the occasional fly route

He's our third best wide receiver, just so you know.

he won't be once CP steps on campus

I think he will move back to RB too - at minimum as a 3rd down back that will be doing a lot of receiving but likely will get his share of chances to take the starting job

I think he could play both, but until CP proves it, he's the #3 receiver. He could be an important piece this year.

A lot of his big plays last year came from an h-back/ rb hybrid position. While his body type is a good bit bigger than most scat backs (Sproles, Bush, ect.), he seems to fit that Dexter McCluster role of being an Offensive Weapon. Personally, I think he will see a lot of running back time but not necessarily between the tackles. Our offense is going to be the NFL pass heavy, timing offense. Additionally, I don't care where the guy plays as long as he can continue the big play threat that he was last year.

He has good hands and good speed. May see him in both spots from time to time. Good to have a guy that is able to do that. He could be deadly catching passes out of the backfield or in some type of screen play.

If none of the new WRs make Spring practice, then they might keep Neal at WR until fall. Or maybe they'll make the change to RB and take the risk on new guys coming in strong.

If he can keep his fumbling problem under control I really feel like he has a breakout year. He can be a big time play maker for this team.

I think Neal will b used primarily as a pass catching running back, plus about ten carries a game. The running back position will b by committee with Neal getting the most touches and yards

Neal never looks better than when he runs a wheel route out of the backfield.

Chaney said today that he is still at WR but nothing has been finalized with him as far as position.

What about putting him in some two runninback formations with Lane. Give one the ball and the other one takse the fake? Plus, more skilled guys for the def to contend with...
