Rain and Attendance Tonight

Yeah radar showing the rain has past Monterey with nothing showing up westward until you reach the Mississippi river.

Their's just no way i'm taking that sitting down looser. Weather you believe it or not, I had a ACT score of 30. It's there right to doubt this, but that's the brakes. I'm way passed all of the loosers out there, but I've taken all I can bare. The hole lot of you loosers can just stick it. I was just talking about the rainy whether anyway. So their.

Nice. You should have thrown in a misuse of effect/affect (which has been a favorite of this thread), too.

Over priviledged rich white folks will not sit and get wet I don't care if Corso is sittin with em. As soon as undesireable conditions occur you'll have white folks dumpin tickets like ultra conservative repubs at a inner city humanity benefit....yes in Knoxville.

"Corso sittin with em?" What does that even mean? This has to be the dumbest thing I've ever read.

If I thought I could get tickets cheap I would try to go tonight. But after last week, I don't trust it.

I bought tickets, so I'm going. It just burns me up though, that it doesn't rain all friggin' summer, but now that I can make it to a game, it's gonna rain. :realmad:

Hello Vols!!!

I'd be willin to bet there'll be between 8000-10000 duck fans there. You will be irritated by them. They are loud, they dont sit, and they LOVE the rain. But hopefully they are polite, and hopefully yall are polite back.

And: is there really that much of a dropoff in attendance when it rains out there? That'll just make the duck fans in attendance seem all the more pronounced. I thought vols werent fair weather fans...

But really, if it is that wet, that is an advantage for the home team. But speed was never gonna win this game, the play of the lineman for both teams on both sides of the ball has been and will be the key to the game. The rain just makes it more obvious. I know its a cliche but games like this are won/lost in the trenches!

Good luck Vols!!!

GO DUCKS!!!

It's not really that bad. With 100k people there are always those older folks that will duck out, but even with bad weather we still represent.

Chock this thread up to the doom and gloomers. The past 6-7 years have created an extremely manic (but still lovable!) fanbase.

It'll be rockin tonight!

I remember when there was zero chance of walking up and getting a ticket to a UT home game, unless you were willing to pay 3 to 4 times the face value...

...and rival fans kept their mouths shut, their heads low, and made a quick entry to Neyland, followed by a quick exit, usually midway through the 4th quarter.

Of course, gas was around 79 cents a gallon then, so.....

Now we've got tickets to spare, gas is $2.60 a gallon, and all of a sudden, Knoxville is inundated with mouthy Ducks.

Gotta be the AFLAC Syndrome.

Go Vols. Duck season is officially open.....

Updated 2:56 PM EDT on September 11, 2010

Through 5 PM EDT...a line of showers and thunderstorms...associated with a cold front...will continue to develop and move east at 25 mph. This activity...currently working its way across middle Tennessee...will enter the listening area later this afternoon.

Isolated development ahead of this line is already occurring...and will primarily affect areas south of Knoxville over the next two hours. Rainfall amounts up to half an inch per hour will be possible with this early development. However...later this afternoon and evening...rainfall amounts associated with the front could exceed 1 inch per hour.

--------

245 PM EDT Sat Sep 11 2010 Discussion

Short term (tonight through Monday night)...current surface
analysis shows a northwest-to-southeast oriented warm front between
Knoxville and the Tri-Cities...with a very moist air mass behind it
over the southwestern half of the forecast area along with a very
unstable air mass developing over eastern middle Tennessee. Model soundings
reveal a very moist air mass with precipitable water values around 2
inches in the warm sector between the warm front and the cold front
over western middle Tennessee. This very moist and unstable air mass should
encourage additional convective development along the cold front as
it slowly moves eastward into the great Tennessee Valley this evening after
sunset. Will plan to continue mentioning 'locally heavy rainfall
possible' areawide for this evening.

are they really that bad? or is it just irritating cuz they're there? I admit, there is the group of duck fans who dont remember how bad we used to suck and seem to think that since we've been moderately successful this last 10 or so years that gives them the right to be cocky, obnoxious a$$holes. I hope those arent the ones in attendance. It seemed like most of us are very respectful of the vol program and fans, and my travellin friends are just lookin to partake of some of that wonderful atmosphere you got down there. I wish i was there...

Good luck Vols!

dont worry dude....1/2 of our fans will be sitting in their seats sippin' wine and telling all the people in front of them to sit down and be quiet so they can see the game and so the opponents wont have such a hard time calling plays and scoring points!
