C'mon Spens, Smokey dogs??? I can get those at 7/11. Something with local character that may not be rare, but you can't get at a gas station would be nice.

1. Pacman played at West Virginia
2. I think he realized about Eli and was just saying
3. He lives in California...you really expect him to know Tennessean vs. Tennessian? The second one does make a lot less sense, but cut the man some slack...

Even with all the spelling disasters that take place here, and on all message boards on a daily basis, that was still a new one to me.

He's a solid player, but I'm not sure I'd want the face of my program in the NFL to be a 2nd or 3rd receiver. Maybe DeAngelo Hall would be better. So far the candidates are a dog-fighting thug, one of the most overrated corners in the league who can't shut his mouth, and the Kyle Orton's 2nd option in Denver. Not great.

I agree for the most part.. Dont worry though, we should be having a Heisman in Blacksburg within a year or two and a definite top 5 pick in the NFL draft...

Say hello to Ryan Williams...

Thank you... I could sit here and list 20 more... Most of articles that have Neyland listed near the top are SEC writers trying to pump up their own conference... Think about it this way, if Lane Stadium ranks near the top right now with 66K people in attendance, what would the sound levels be if our stadium held 100K like yours? Pound for pound, Lane Stadium is second to no one... If I had to rank the top 5 stadiums in the country, this would be it:

1) Tiger Stadium - LSU
2) Lane Stadium - VT
3) Tiger Stadium - Clemson
4) Auzten Stadium - Oregon
5) Beaver Stadium - Penn State

Tennessee would be somewhere between 6-15th...

Which stadiums have you actually been to? Your list is as good as toilet paper to me without having experienced the atmospheres of any schools you ranked.

Also, the Minister had 221 sacks as a professional. His first two seasons were with the USFL Memphis Showboats.

Bruce's college numbers were better.

Both were two of the finest defenders to ever buckle a chinstrap.

Welcome. Good post.

As far as tailgates, you must not have tailgated in the Vol Navy as I am sure Nebraska cannot touch that. Tennessee also has much better weather later in the season than Nebraska.

Lincoln comes strong with it. Legit top 10.

Once it gets past Halloween though, not even the most steamy Runza and freshest Lienenkugel's can get you past the temperature.

Gotta get straight into the Bourbon.

By the way, for you Hokies thinking Bruce Smith was better than Reggie White:

198 sacks for Reggie in 232 games played

200 sacks for Bruce in 279 games played

Reggie had .85 per game played, while Bruce had .71 per game played.

Their games played would be very similar for Pro games played, but Reggie played in the USFL for 2 seasons out of UT. He played in 36 games for the Memphis showboats with 23.5 sacks.

So, basically, UT has a player that owns your Best Player ever.

Why exactly did Reggie play in the USFL for two seasons?

TNvol86, thanks for the welcome. On the MSA, I'll split the difference with you:

Richmond 1.2M
Knoxville 691K
Roanoke 280K

No disrespect, but if Lincoln had a navigable river next to the stadium they'd give the Volunteer navy a run for the money. Check out BRMW.com. Those guys were super when we were out there and were great hosts. The most interesting part was that about 20 min. before KO, I asked one of the guys when they were heading to the game and he said most of them did not have tickets and watched the game on the ambulance tv. That's pretty hardcore.

All of them except for Auzten... Next question...

No Swamp

No Doak

No Big House

Fail.

Our status at 6th is probably about right pre-Kiffin.

I have a feeling our crowd noise is going to get back to peeling the logo off your 59/50 like it would 95-2002 with UF and Bama coming to town next year.

I have never, ever heard anything else that caused me physical pain; including an idling jet engine.

I can't hear you, I've been physically abused in the ear!

I don't think the VT fans are trying to compare NFL players, or the best NFL player from each team (at least, I hope not); they're just saying that they have had good players other than Vick. But honestly, when people think VT and the NFL, they probably think of Vick first even with Bruce Smith--especially with Smith being retired now. With Tennessee, there are plenty of troublemakers (J. Lewis, T. Henry, D. Stallworth) but the face of our program with regard to the NFL (Manning) is still the face of our program for all the right reasons, and we have plenty of other wildly successful players to make people forget about the bad ones. VT has maybe a couple and pretty much none who are still active.

And yes the concessions are flat out terrible.
