Lowly Virginia Tech drew a record crowd to Nebraska's home stadium so please spare me. That school has 3 times the tradition Tennessee has and they decided that their record night would be against VT. And you say we don't draw attention?

Glad to see Virginia Tech fans using alternative teams to debate tradition. The 'three times the tradition' assertion is absurd. That would be more on par, if you were debating the difference between the history of VT and UT.

OK. It comes to this. There will be 30K Hokie fans in the Georgia Dome period. I would like to stake $100 on it. Anyone down to take my bet?

You won't be able to prove it even if your team sells its allotment. This thread is all the proof I need of that. Some of them will be Vols fans. I'm sure some in the UT section will be Hokies, but either way, the bet can't be won by anyone.

They have to overcome the stigma of this:

Any comment you make about how your school's fans travel well should be reserved until after they prove it in the bowl.

Wow. I had only heard stories about how bad it was. The visual representation is pretty awful. I am somewhat surprised ABC/ESPN would show an aerial view of that. Usually they try to hide empty parts of stadiums. I guess when the stadium is that empty there is no use in trying.

Yeah, maybe they should've put a huge tarp on both top decks...

I guess the question about attendance is where do you base the 20K figures especially when we had a solid 60-40 type showing at the beginning of the season. I don't understand the need to be defensive when I clearly said you would outdraw us.

What's worse is that is actually a conference championship game. There is actually something at stake there, unlike a bowl. And it is in sunny Florida.

They should probably start having the ACC championship at Duke's stadium so it looks full/like people want to be there.

We all need to tell our friends/neighbors/coworkers/etc. to "gobble" up hokietickets.com tickets since it is obvious the Va Tech fans don't want them too badly.

Bought a bunch of tickets in Section 104. I'm ready!!!! They sold out of $80.00 tics, but have $70.00, 100 level tickets still available. Get em, Vol fans.

No, you can still get the $80 tix. Folks, I've been to the Ga Dome several times. The mezz. level tix (200's) are the best seats in the house. Not too high, not too low. Easier access to beer and restrooms! That's why they are 80 and lowers are 70. But, either way, let's buy as many Chokie tix as possible!

I'm not saying tennessee doesn't draw. You don't have to defend yourself, I'm just defending VT's ability to travel. I conceded there would be more UT fans. But what makes you think that there'll be a greater proportion of UT fans than Bama fans? I mean 20K Hokie fans is ridiculously low.

ABILITY TO TRAVEL???????? It's straight down the interstate for you losers to get to Ga. How in the heck can it be hard for you to get there.
I-40 is closed, it's 130 mile detour for alot of the VOL faithful, and it won't deter a single one of us from being there.

Can someone post the entire lyrics to Rocky Top so that by the time December 31 rolls around our fine Hokie friends visiting VN will know the words by heart?

Never mind, by the end of the first quarter, they'll know them by heart anyway!

GO BIG ORANGE!!!

Well I'm glad you can predict the future then. As for my fact based assertion: the Alabama game was split just like that and just my opinion, they're far more fanatical and dedicated plus they're top 10. If I'm not mistaken, you haven't had full attendance at your OWN stadium for numerous games this year.

We have over 100,000 at every game....You on the other hand have 60,000 max (what a joke) in Lame Stadium...

You are the Typical Chokie Fan who needs to look in the mirror and face the facts that your program is not all that....You have Zero Naitional Championships in any sport period....Your campus smells like cow crap....VA is a State that is ranked in the Top 7 in Talent every year yet you the Chokies never finish in the Top 15 in recruiting...(why is that)
