UCLA DB: "On film, (Crompton) would look guys off. He didn't look anybody off today. Where he was looking was where he was throwing."

Everything the coaches are telling this kid just isn't working. 5 picks in two games. Time for a change. Please.

Not only did he stare down his intended receivers, but he was late with his release.

I have read a few posts criticizing Kiffin for calling the pass play that opened up the 3rd quarter. If Crompton doesn't hesitate, and gets the ball out of his hand when the receiver makes his break, its an easy pitch and catch.

This kid is impressive, and as a sophomore. Let's just all hope this team puts this game behind them and moves on. Last year, we quit on the season after the UCLA game. I don't think this coaching staff will allow that to happen. Eric Berry, Hardesty, and our other leaders must step up and make sure there isn't any finger pointing that begins. That happened last year and the coaching staff just allowed it. Don't be so quick to criticize, let's see how this team responds in the coming weeks--that will tell us a lot as to where this team is compared to last year. If they just pack it in and quit, we are in for another long season, but I honestly don't see CLK's staff and Berry/Hardesty's leadership allowing this to happen.

Look.. we don't have to blame Crompton for the loss.. but I think it's pretty obvious that with avg qb play we would have won this game

I would like to see Stevens take meaningful snaps before I agree with that statement.

1) We've seen what Crompton can do, give him a shot.
2) Stephens will be back next year, Crompton won't
3) Crompton has had his chances, he's blown it each time. Let someone else have a shot at winning a damn ballgame, bc it sure as hell won't be Crompton

What scares me is that Kiffin is going to play the best man for the job. He's not going to play a senior because he's a senior.

I know Stephens was injured for the better part of the spring, but..if Stephens hasn't stood out as being better than Crompton then we are in trouble.

Also, this offensive line did not pass block well, especially on the last possession.

Three things stand out to me:

1-Crompton is not the guy for the job
2-The O line does not pass block well
3-Crompton may be the best we have.

Another thing, has Crompton ever called an audible? I mean my God if they're coming on a blitz, and you know it, check down/run a hot route. He runs the play he was given, and that's it. And he's bad at that too

I really don't think Stephens is any better at any of these things you mention.. If he was then he would have been named the starter.. I say that in complete confidence that Kiffin knows how to pick a starter at qb

Now that I have cooled off from watching the game first hand.

JC is still the same QB from 08'. That is a fact. I was willing to give him a second chance under the new staff, with a new year, and not much has changed. JC claims that he is still solid, and has not lost confidence in his abilities. Assuming this is true, (which I am starting to wonder) at what point does the team lose confidence in JC? Crompton has been here for a while now, and not much has gone right for him individually or with the team. At some point he has to wonder if anything if gonna go right for him.

With that being said, we are all waiting for a QB to come in and balance our O, at this point Im not sure that guy is on campus. If think Kiffin is wanting JC to do something that we have not seen him do here at UT. If NS gets his shot, it should not be until the Ohio game. Starting him for the UF game, could get both of our QBs off to a bad start. If NS had a good game, it would seem like a failure pending the out come of the UF game.

CLK did not help JC out much, he gave him the extra rope to hang himself yesterday. We win the game if we do not throw a pass in the second half.

I think Stevens can be an average QB for UT. Crompton has always thrown into coverage, and chocked under pressure.

After watching Stevens last season it was clear to me that he handles the pressure much better than Crompton.

Doubtful! They were sending basically everyone in the second half because they new we were going to run most of the time. Of course we had a few good runs, not near as many good runs we would have had if we had a semi-productive passing game.

Doubtful?, we ran the ball 17 times in a row the last couple of drives. One of which stalled 2 feet short of the game winning TD. UCLAs D was out of gas after the last 2 possesions, that was after not having to play in the 3rd quarter.

Not to mention 6 of their 9 second half points come off the first 2 possesions of the second half, after JC threw INTs on consecutive plays.

IMO, which is all it is. LK has too much "practice confidence" in JC. I don't watch him practice everyday, but I see him play every Saturday that he does.
