Quitting is inexcusable

From an opposing fan's perspective, I would say your offense quit. Your defense was trying but they were exhausted which was part of our game plan. We were trying to exploit our depth advantage but no excuse for your offense.

what gave the players the idea they could quit in this game? i will tell you,
dooley's remark that it was not the end of world if we did not be florida. simple as that. players do not fear dooley or care about him either. the da' rick situcation should prove that

This is a very stupid statement. What do you want him to say? Lose the game and the season is completely ruined? Name one coach at the fbs level that would tell his players that? There isn't one. That puts way too much pressure on the players in the game, and pretty much ruins any chance for the team to getting it back together.

The team always quits when something doesn't go their way, its been like this for 3 years, and thats all on the coaches.

I have come to the conclusion that Bray is not the guy to lead this team. Great skills with a lot of potential but it was obvious that he did quit last night. It's not the first time we've seen this. If Dooley wants to prove he is the right guy he should start looking for other QB options.

I almost lost it when Dooley sent the punt team out with 7 min left in the 4th quarter. You guys talk about the team quitting, well the coach basically just raised the white flag halfway through the 4th. I can only imagine how the players felt when they saw their coach had no more faith in them.

I don't think it's quitting.

I think it's simply the fact that when a Derek Dooley football team faces adversity, not once have they ever risen to the occasion. They simply aren't mentally tough enough to compete.

Not a good sign for Dooley.

Call it what you want, sounds like the same thing. If the coach needs to light a fire under a player, benching him is one way to do it. If the coach doesn't have the balls to do that then get a new coach.

For those of you that think Bray didn't quit, go back and look at his body language at about the 9 minute mark of the 4th quarter. Down 14 and he was mentally checked out. Ever seen that from Peyton Manning? Why can't WE be the ones that stage the miraculous comebacks?

The team most definitely quit last night. Bray quit. The offense quit. The defense quit.

no, no they didn't.
Bray was beyond pissed, confused and frustrated. He didn't handle it well. Doesn't mean he quit.
Rb's didn't quit. OL didn't quit. JH and CP were running sprints down the field on every Chaney play call after the midpoint of the 3rd quarter. They were exhausted and tried their damndest to make a play, but came up short. JH probably trying too hard.
AJ, Curt and Lathers didn't quit. Go tell them they did. They left it on the field. Our DL played hard, but just didn't get it done. Our db's were more confused than anything, but go ahead and tweet to Randolph that he quit as he tore his acl up, possibly puts his career in jeopardy, as he chased down a florida player after a hitch turns into 80 yards because we left Teague on an island.
They made plays. We made mistakes. We blew the game as it was in our hands.

Easy to sit behind a guru status on a message board and call a bunch of players quitters. Very easy.

Have you ever played wr in the SEC, virtually the whole game like #11 did, and run pass play after pass play late in the game?

You have no idea wtf you are talking about. Hunter was as gassed as a wr can be. CP as well

Since he hasn't played WR in the SEC, he can't claim that the players weren't gassed? However, you haven't played WR in the SEC, but you can claim they were gassed?

Sound logic.

I didn't see players quitting, I saw a team that got exhausted and team that still doesn't have quality depth.

You wouldn't know quality depth if you were deep sea fishing.

Everyone saw it. There's a reason why there are hundreds of posts referencing it. Bray quit. It was obvious. This isn't people complaining just to complain.

No, I asked a question. Only someone that doesn't understand football would have watched Hunter running sprint after sprint down the field, lean over with hands on hips or knees, not even try to block on a couple of inside Neal runs, and assume he wasn't gassed.

If you don't think Hunter was exhausted, you can't see either. No logic needed.

And I don't think you and others understand that immaturity, frustration and losing composure doesn't mean the same as quitting. That's what bray showed. He played poorly, lost composure and got completely frustrated.

I agree. I don't think we "quit". I do think we had the wind taken out of our sails.
