That should be enough right there. I've been a UT fan since the Tony robinson era. I don't think as far back as i can remember a team just up and quiting. It happened at Arky last year. We quit late at cal on defense anyway and again at florida. Something's just not right up there. Its got to be raising some eyebrows. I don't care how bad we are position wise. But one thing we shouldn't be doing is quiting. We need to get some pride back. But thats just the problem. These kids that are juniors and seniors really never played for anything. Maybe they don't know what it is to give your all for 60 minutes. The program is just not what it used to be.:cray:

I was on the fence about CPF until that Ark game last year. I was leaning toward giving him a chance until that game. We got punched in the face and didn't hit back! Losing is one thing but laying down is another. I have seen this more than once. Neb. smacked us around but we used that as motivation and turned it around. Then came Auburn again we somewhat turned it around. Burnette stepped up and made the statement that we would see them again...and we did. Maybe not the result we wanted but they left it on the field. Its a disturbing pattern. Its been said that a team takes on the personality of its coach....I will leave that up to you to decide....

OK CD, time for Lexy to give you a serious response to a post.

1. This team needs to get nasty. Not only are they a step slow, they have stopped punishing opponents. We have become a finesse defense.

2. After CPF got rolled by Nebraska, I remember him retooling his philosophy in order to compete with teams like the Huskers of the mid 90s. I personally think he is still stuck there. That was his epiphany, and that is as good as it will get.

Right on both counts Lex. The thing that gets me is when something doesn't work out its like what do we do now? CPF said yesterday that the reason we aren't throwing deep was because of EAs finger. He basically said it is what it is.... The man simply has got no solution for anything. We just keep to the game plan and I think that is what gets the players down...I think its the no hope factor.

How far has CPF waded from the shallow water of reality? His solution for the team this year was to get back to pounding the football. That is his adjustment. There is no doubt in my mind that he thought we would line up against Fla and Cal and shove the ball down their throats. He is stubborn and inflexible. It is going to cost him his job this year.

Well then i think most of us agree there has been way to much quit involved with our football team.

lexvol said it, we need to get mean and nasty...where's an al wilson kinda guy thats goin to step up and start hitting some guys in the chin...but you're right, we're no longer a hard hittin, feared defense; we're finesse and schemes, instead of lettin our great athletes loose
