They didn't stop us from scoring when we got those turnovers. Maybe the refs could have just moved the ball back 70 more yards when we had great field position so that we could get extra yards to win the "total yards" category. Or, so we could beat them in the "time of possession category" by having to use more time and get more first downs.
this is true, and if you want to cling to something it's that we did get some good production offensively out of the running game when those opportunities presented themselves.
the downside is that we didn't really stop them all that much. also take in to account the 100 yards in penalties against them, and there was a lot of field position lost by them.
long story short, the VT win was a good one, but by no means can anyone really say Tennessee has played a complete game yet.
the good news, neither has Florida. we've had breaks go our way, they've played a very weak schedule.
both teams will see a big step up in talent level this weekend.
the differences for me right now is FL hasn't made the mental blunders we have seen us make, with 11 fumbles, dropped passes, missing wide open WR's, missed fg's etc... and God knows how many penalties we've committed. and their defense is a bad match up for our o line, as it stands today.
