I was watching the game on TV yesterday and saw two guys wearing shirts that said "Vo Gols"? What the heck is that?

I searched the forums, and the only hit was coincidentally in the South Carolina football thread. It picked up right before USC made a field goal inside of 2 minutes to take a 3 point lead. I then spent the next 30 minutes reading the rest of the thread for some good entertainment.

I saw that as well and have no idea what the meaning behind it is.

Maybe a current student has info.

It's something with the weekly hangover, a student publication. However, I don't get what it is supposed to mean, or think that it is clever at all.

did anyone see the SA/PHX nba game...they were wearing "Los Spurs" and "Los Suns" Maybe these two are connected? Maybe they have something to do with daylight savings time?

Yeah, I get the letter switch part, akin to the buck fama shirts.

But why switch the letters in Go Vols? I thought there may be something to it.

we used to say that when i was in school at UT.

thought that was a common thing.

Our best witty line was instead of Go Vols...
we said Grow Balls.

All of the NBA teams are having Hispanic Heritage Nights in the next few weeks. That's why the Los was on the uniforms. They promoted the bejesus out of the Knicks' HHN Saturday night at the Garden.

Ummm. . . .thinking that the letter transposition has nothing to do with Spanish or any other language (unless you speak pig latin). I believe it is supposed to be a play on intoxication.

it's from the hangover. it means you root for the vols even when you're trashed

If that is the reason, I now understand why there were only two people wearing the shirts. Lame.

I use to write an edit for the Hangover. I enjoyed yelling Vo Gols at old rednecks and giving out some serious high-fives. Being entrepreneurial alcoholics, we printed up a bunch of shirts and cruised around the Fort on Gameday and sold them all.

What does it mean? Hell if I know, I just enjoyed yelling it. It's not high art here, just college students having a good time. Vo Gols!
