Was just on rivals looking at the total number of players committed and saw that Air Force has 40 commitments. Since Air Force is a service academy do they follow different rules regarding the commitment limits? Thanks

NCAA has a number of unique rules for service academies. I believe service academies are exempt from scholarship limits...not positive.

I was under the impression the 25 plus 3 rule was only an SEC rule and the only 'AA rule was the 85 total scholly players.

By NCAA rule you are only allowed to sign 25 per year. Its the SEC rule that you can only sign and place 3 guys

Worley just said ouch...Lot of truth to it though... I see him competing for the job with a duel threat we pull in next year, and losing... He will be a Great back up though. Im glad we have him.

A little sarcasm to the three star post above. I think we got the best QB this anyways in Worley as well.

While I don't argue with this, I don't really understand why the service academies would have different scholarship limits than the rest of the D-1 football teams. Last I checked, a loss to a service academy still goes on the books as a loss. Same with a win. They also compete for the same post season spots as all other teams with the scholarship restrictions. I don't know, just seems that in the interest of preventing an unfair advantage, the people's republic of the NCAA would be against this type of deal.

Tuition is covered for all students at service academies. Football scholarship is not needed.

Makes sense. I guess it pisses me off even more that the NCAA caps football schollies at 85, a perfectly acceptable number, then limits how many you can give out per year. I feel that how you get to 85 should be your business, different schools have different needs and concerns. Plenty of players to go around, plenty of schools.
