Quick blind resumes

I don't entirely disagree, but with a RPI of 36, they've beaten somebody. (I don't think they deserve in either, btw) I just think that the selection this year is going to be more of a surprise than normal. MTSU, USM, Ole Miss...all of these teams, on paper, are going to present some issues to the committee. It's why I hope to GOD we just win today and remove all doubt.

Yea USM has beaten somebody, a whole bunch of nobodies, you don't get rewarded for beating up a bunch of crap teams and losin to the only good teams you play.

Idk what you see in Ole Miss' resume that makes you think as of now they're getting in...

There have been teams in the RPI 30 left out, usually mid majors who didn't beat anyone...it'll happen to a couple teams this year.

I think we'll see the first top 30 RPI team of the 68 team conference era get shafted this year. MTSU may get left out in the cold.

EDIT: and as I check today, MTSU's RPI has slipped to 32. Not good for the blue raiders.

Missouri State was in the 30s a couple years ago, not sure if that was pre 68 or not though.

Yea I see what you're saying, and I didn't mean to say Ole Miss is getting in now. I just think that it wouldn't shock me if they got selected. They have a better overall record than us, they finished tied for 2nd in conference, and they beat us head to head 2-0, and they have virtually the same RPI. I think our resume is better, but to act like we are in and they have no shot seems like an overstatement to me.

That is why the RPI has flaws. Belmont almost 35 better than us?

Overall and league records don't matter these days after conference expansion because of unbalanced schedules. I believe OM played Auburn and Mississippi State twice. People have to realize that wins don't mean as much anymore. The only thing they have on us is head to head. They have no real good OOC wins.

But you are right. I am not surprised at anything these days.

Team B. Tougher SOS, better record, no losses vs. 100+ teams, almost identical records vs. top 100 teams between Team A and Team B.

We could argue these all day. I would point out that team B's OOC SOS (the only SOS a coach really has control of) is much worse than team A. So team B's high overall SOS is a product of playing in a conference that has an overall very high SOS, thus they benefit from it.

My point was that while Cincy probably gets the nod (and I agree with this), the fact that they are considered by some to be as high as an 9 seed while Tennessee is relegated to last team in status seems a bit off to me.
