Jared Allen is from my area and I see he has started 3 games out of 7 and has went 5 for 10 with 1 walk and no strikeouts. Haven't watched any games but does anyone see him getting full playing time soon. And the Saberhagen kid is he related to Brett.

Brett is his father.

There is a good chance of Jared Allen starting. CDS is still tinkering with his lineup and Jared has as good a chance as anyone. Especially if he continues at .500. However, unlike the previous regime, we get the feeling that CDS judges players overall and considers defense, avg and doing the little things like bunting.

Even if not a full time starter, he will likely be the first out of the dugout as a replacement.

Good deal have you seen him play any, I never watched him play baseball but saw him on the football field. Kids is real athletic and has some size.

Oh and about the Saberhagen boy if he is half what his dad was then he should be a good one. Wonder if Brett attends many games.

Personally I have played against Jared Allen while he was at Polk County. He has great size and can hit for power, but the most surprising thing is his speed. While at 6'2 220 lbs, his speed is good. I was surprised when I heard he got to play, because you don't usually hear of people from East Tennessee playing as freshmen. Gotta say I wish him the best of luck and GBO!
