Ive never been to one although its on my bucket list of things to do

Is it as loud as it seems from TV?
Is it as awesome as I think watching the Running Thru The T?
Whats some of the best parts of the experience?

There's nothing else like it

Oh, come on. Isn't the stuff on just about everybody's so-called bucket list stuff that either costs an enormous amount of money, takes an enormous amount of time, and/or takes place on the other side of the world? He lives in Nashville. Scoring a thirty dollar ticket to a football game 180 miles away isn't some unattainable dream unless you're an bankrupt quadriplegic dialysis patient or something.

I mean, I'm unemployed, and yet my wife and I spent more money tonight on beer and whiskey than it would cost somebody in Nashville to drive over to a UT game in Knoxville one Saturday and buy a ticket. This should be an achievable goal for the guy.
I believe he is a she.

I once read somewhere that watching a game at Neyland Stadium was the closest present-day man could get to a "Gladiatorial experience". I think that pretty well sums it up.

The Vol Walk is impressive. Following the band, with their repeated playing of Rocky Top, down the Hill toward the stadium is great fun. The forming of the Power T by the band and the crowd chanting V-O-L-S in unison as they march down the field creates a sense of unity.

The "community" singing of Rocky Top just after the band plays the opposing team's fight song always amazes anyone I bring to the game. So many people doing the same thing. Sure, student sections at other stadiums do things in unison---but the singing of Rocky Top is nearly 100,000 + doing the same thing.....

The Running Through the T never fails to bring me chills---(maybe a tear every now and then?)

Loud? At it's peak it's like a rock concert. You hear nothing BUT noise.

I remarried 3 years ago and the first game I took my new wife to was a Florida game. She was born in L.A. and has lived in AZ for 30+ years----having attended ASU and UCLA games from time to time. The UT vs. Florida game was a jaw-dropping experience for her----basically she said, "I never knew football games could be like this..." She now clearly knows that Tennessee Football is a religion to those who love it.

Hey Fella, if your for real about your situation, then I will buy you 2 tickets.(Don't know how good the seats willl be) One for you and your chosen driver. It will have to be next year, as I'm already committed for this season. Just look up my e-mail and we'll work it out.
If you show up in normal condition and not on "disability" you will certainly qualify before you leave. :birgits_giggle:

Watch Rudy. At the very end when Rudy's father gets to the game and finds his seat in the stands then looks out at the field, and says "this is the best sight the eyes have ever seen" and that will be you...except there will be a bigger stadium, prettier girls, better football, and a checkerboard instead of slashes.

A little off-topic, but it might help to hear that I saw tickets going for as little as $10 yesterday.
