I am fortunate enough to sit in the skybox for just about every game I go too, and while its certainly a different atmosphere than being in the student section, it is still a lot of fun.
The glass is magnified so nothing on the field seems far away. Also, you can adjust the crowd noise volume in your box and open the windows to let more of it in. There is a tv in there as well that can be used for watching our game or having another game on (which is good when we play crap teams). You can also turn the volume to the volnetwork broadcast if you want to listen to Kesling or try and find out something about an injury.
Assuming the owners of your box have stocked it, you can drink openly.
Nice clean restroom without the lines.
Great food before and during the first half, and snacks/appitizers in the second half, all free. And ice cream!
When I go, it usually about 10 old fraternity brothers plus wives/gfs in our mid to upper 20s and we get really rowdy up there. No one seems to care or give us a hard time.
I hope you enjoy the experience, it is certainly first class.
