Questions about skybox seating.......

I am fortunate enough to sit in the skybox for just about every game I go too, and while its certainly a different atmosphere than being in the student section, it is still a lot of fun.

The glass is magnified so nothing on the field seems far away. Also, you can adjust the crowd noise volume in your box and open the windows to let more of it in. There is a tv in there as well that can be used for watching our game or having another game on (which is good when we play crap teams). You can also turn the volume to the volnetwork broadcast if you want to listen to Kesling or try and find out something about an injury.

Assuming the owners of your box have stocked it, you can drink openly.

Nice clean restroom without the lines.

Great food before and during the first half, and snacks/appitizers in the second half, all free. And ice cream!

When I go, it usually about 10 old fraternity brothers plus wives/gfs in our mid to upper 20s and we get really rowdy up there. No one seems to care or give us a hard time.

I hope you enjoy the experience, it is certainly first class.

I sat in the sky box last year and it was great. It was much better than watching at home. I would choose the skybox over the stadium seating every game.

I have never sat in a skybox at UT, but have at Charlotte Motor Speedway many times. It is differant, but definately a good experience. It is hard to beat riding an elevator to a box filled with good food, free drinks, a clean accessable bathroom, and having some elbow room. Go and enjoy it as those opportunities don't come often for most folks.

only sat in a skybox for the spring game. In my opinion if your gonna remove yourself from the action and atmosphere of neyland to a box like that you might as well save your money and watch the game at home under basically the same conditions...

How many of you that are comparing a skybox to staying home have ever actually seen a game from a skybox?

I haven't, but I know I wouldn't like it. I could care less about all the food and stuff. I can get that at home too. If I'm going to the game, I won't it to feel like I'm actually at the game.

I have never seen the Vols from the skybox but enjoyed NASCAR in Charlotte and the Titans from one. It is definitely better than the living room.

First, the "fully stocked open bar" mentioned before does not exist. There are, however, fridges in which the owners can stock with the bottle/s of their choosing before gameday. The food is not great, but it is pretty good. If you've never been before, I would not trade your tickets. You should experience it at least once in your life. The view is great, although it seems like I wind up watching the TV more than the live action since I am unable to see jersey numbers, names, etc. But it is an experienced worth having. And hey, free ice cream!! I do prefer to be down low with the crowd where I am free to scream at the top of my lungs and go hoarse! Have fun!

I have watched more than my fair share of games from the skybox. If I didn't have to do it from a social standpoint I would never do it again. (The exception to this is or course games with pouring rain) :)

The food was great. It was good quality and I absolutely pigged out.

Walking down those stairs to your seat is trippy.

Overall, I really enjoyed it, mostly because of how comfortable I was and all that I had to eat, but I also missed a lot of action. You just get caught up in other things up there.

When it's cold or raining, there is no other place I'd rather sit. Any other time, though, I will take my seats any day.

Well that's a different story

Thanx guys for all the opinions...I'm still thinking about trading them for some great stadium seats. Have taken these comments to heart and it seems kinda split down the middle, maybe a little lean to the to the lower level. Thanx again for the responses..have a week to consider. These are for the LSU game..GBO
