Hey guys...I started a thread a few weeks ago about the summer basketball camp. My wife and I are thinking of bringing our 7 year old to it in June. Only thing is we live in Texas :) Quite a drive for us, but thats ok. Any hotels you guys would recommend..my dad and I stayed at the hampton inn close to the campus my only time to come a few years ago. It was close to a road so heard lots of traffic...not ideal for a 7 year old and good nights sleep. Also any recommendations on places to eat? And last is everything on campus still open during the summer? Can't come back without some new Vols gear for the family. Thanks in advance for your replies...GO VOLS!

Most Hotels in Kville are close to or right on the Interstate Hwy, unless you stay IN town. Some very nice spots around the Sun Sphere area. Also some evening strolling around areas that are easily accessible and safe. Basically take your pick, price for comfort and location, or price for road noise... My $0.02

If you wanted everything together, you can stay downtown and eat either off Gay St or in Market Square. Enjoy.

Turkey Creek area IMO... Gives you sufficient solitude with plenty of local and chain dining options... Easy access to I-40, with a quick jaunt down to campus etc etc...
Additionally, couple of places to purchase that new Vols gear---specifically Alumni Hall...love that place!!
Enjoy the trip!!

That'd be my recommendation too. Lots of shopping and restaurants down there. I guess the Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza would be the closest hotels.

The best thing to do is stay at the Crowne Plaza for easy access to everything downtown/worlds fair park, as well as market square. Too bad I called and they were fully occupied :*(

They both show availability online.

The Hilton and Holiday Inn downtown are both nice and convenient. There is also a newer boutique hotel on the corner of Market square, but the name escapes me. See the Dining thread in the Pub for restaurant options.

Hilton Downtown, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn are convenient to Market Square, Worlds Fair Park, UT Campus. Marriott Downtown a little further walk. Good restaurants downtown and in Market Square. Calhoun's on the River is a good place to eat. Take the free trip up the Sunsphere on the Worlds Fair Park on. Clear day for a great view of the city and Smoky Mountains. If your 7 year old is a girl, take her to the women's Basketball Hall of Fame downtown. Have a great trip.

It's The Oliver. Very cool scene down there. I didn't really list that one because they'd have their kid with them, but I'd recommend it if it were for a getaway for he and his wife.

Does anybody know how much it costs for RV parking ? Not going to be able to make it to the O&W game but will be moving back to Tn in the next few months.

Hampton Inn is downtown and close to campus, nice place to stay and very reasonably priced.
